Use of Pupil premium funding
Background
Pupil premium is additional funding that schools in England receive to improve education outcomes for disadvantaged pupils. Evidence shows that these children face particular challenges in reaching their full potential at school and often do not perform as well as their peers. The amount of funding schools receive changes each year based on the number of pupils they have who:
- receive free school meals or have received free school meals in the last six years.
- have been adopted from care or have left care.
Philosophy
At Catherine Junior School, we believe that every child should be supported to meet their full potential academically, socially and physically, no matter what their background is. The targeted and strategic use of pupil premium funding supports us in achieving this.
